Ideal launches MAX break as research shows installers are too busy to stop
Ideal Heating is rewarding Logic MAX and Vogue MAX registrations with a free Greggs Sausage Roll or Regular Hot Drink, after its research found more than half of installers regularly miss out on a proper break.
Ideal Heating surveyed more than 500 heating installers and found that 56.1% are too busy to take the break they would like on at least three days a week. Almost three in ten (28.7%) said this happens every working day.
Most aren’t asking for much. Nearly three quarters (72.3%) said their ideal break would last just 15 to 30 minutes, yet 55.6% either rarely take a proper break or don’t stop until lunchtime or later.
In response, Ideal has launched MAX break. Installers who register a Logic MAX or Vogue MAX boiler can claim a free Greggs Sausage Roll or Regular Hot Drink, and can claim again each week they register another eligible boiler.
The survey also asked installers what makes a good break. Something to eat came top (56.2%), followed by a good coffee (44.3%) and ten minutes of peace and quiet (42%). Coffee beat tea as the workday drink of choice, picked by 45.2% of installers compared with 33.1%, although half of those aged 65 and over chose tea. If someone else was buying breakfast, a bacon roll would be the first choice for 29.4%.
Carrie Young, Marketing Director at Ideal Heating, said: “Our installers work incredibly hard and we know how quickly one job can turn into another. MAX break is about recognising that and giving installers an everyday reward they can actually enjoy.”
MAX break sits alongside Ideal’s Connect loyalty programme, where installers collect points towards bigger rewards. Installers in the survey said they had used their points on everything from Christmas presents and new tech to family holidays and even a hot-air balloon ride.
