Campaign offers advice on how to employ tradespeople at home post-COVID
The Work Safe. Safe Work campaign has been created by TrustMark and the Department for Business, Energy & Climate Change to reassure homeowners who are looking to employ tradespeople in their homes as COVID-19 lockdown restrictions ease.
The booklet, which can be downloaded or given to the homeowner before the tradesperson visits the property, offers practical advice about what COVID-safety measures should be discussed and carried out before, during, and after work is done in and around the home.
It also sets out what tasks are the responsibility of the homeowner, such as disinfecting door handles before and after the tradesperson comes into the home, and what lies with the tradesperson, such as providing their own PPE.
The guide provides simple and clear information on tasks that should be completed and a list of helpful questions to ask.
Simon Ayers, CEO of TrustMark, says: “As the lockdown restrictions begin to ease across the country, more homeowners will be having work carried out in their homes. Our Work Safe. Safe Work campaign aims to give them confidence in employing tradespeople in this new reality we are finding ourselves in.”
Work Safe. Safe Work has also received support from the Construction Leadership Council, TrustMark has said.
