Upskill with the BESA Heat Pump course

An online domestic heat pump installation and maintenance course has been created by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), Worcester Bosch and the Home Builders Federation (HBF).

The course is designed to upskill qualified plumbing, heating and RAC engineers, giving them the knowledge to capitalise on new build installations and also the domestic retrofit market.

To attend, engineers should already hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Blue/Gold ACRIB/SKILLcard Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Engineer
  • F-Gas Qualification
  • Oftec Registration
  • Gas Safety Registration.

The course is made up of six modules, including different types of systems, maintenance and commissioning. If all six online modules are completed by 31 May, 2021, the course is free of charge.

Ewan Sutherland, national training manager of Worcester Bosch, says: “As we move towards a zero-carbon future, heat pumps will become more prominent in the heating technology mix. It is essential for current engineers to either train or refresh themselves on how to correctly install and maintain this technology to ensure they are fully equipped for a mix of heating systems in the future.”
