During the lockdowns in place across the UK, adjustments have been made to Gas Safe Register’s inspection process so that they can continue while minimising face-to-face contact. Gas Safe Register will carry out remote technical assessments with engineers by phone, and may use Microsoft Teams to undertake managing gas safety assessments with larger registered businesses. The outcome of these inspection types will determine whether and when a face-to-face inspection is needed.
Where customers make a complaint or raise a concern, Gas Safe Register will make an initial assessment over the phone and may use video calling to support the assessment. This information will be used to confirm the next steps and whether an inspection visit to the property will be required.
