Tech Talk Episode 7 looks the work of Gas Safe Register’s Regional Investigations Officers. RIO Nick Deakin shares his own experience of investigating illegal gas work as well as that carried out by engineers working out of scope.

He discusses what’s involved in an investigation from the moment Gas Safe is informed right through to when the enforcement authority decides whether or not to prosecute, including clarifying what the Register’s role is in these decisions.

Nick is also an experienced incident investigator and gathers evidence on the site of CO incidents, among others.
