Invitation to join hydrogen webinar

Northern Gas Networks is inviting registered gas engineers in the Gateshead and Newcastle areas to attend a live 90-minute webinar to find out more about a trial that will introduce blended hydrogen into the natural gas supply in Winlaton, Gateshead.

During the webinar, gas engineers will be able to find out more about the demonstration, how it interacts with gas work, and the broader plan for hydrogen blending.

As part of the HyDeploy project, Northern Gas Networks will be trialling blended hydrogen up to 20% vol in the natural gas supply, starting in early 2021 for 10 months. Hydrogen will be blended into an isolated section of the Winlaton network and supplied to 668 homes, a primary school, church and small businesses. The trial is currently awaiting formal HSE approval.

After the presentation by NGN and HyDeploy, gas engineers will be able to ask questions about the demonstration.

The webinar takes place on 30 November at 6pm, and you can register to take part here.
