Ideal Heating honoured with King’s Award for Enterprise
Ideal Heating has been awarded The King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category, recognising its work in developing an end-to-end heat pump delivery package.
The manufacturer, part of Groupe Atlantic UK and Republic of Ireland, received the honour for its approach to supporting the adoption of low carbon heating, including training, product development and customer support.
This marks Ideal’s fourth King’s/Queen’s Award, following previous wins in 2013 and 2019. The company has invested £60m in new manufacturing, distribution and research facilities at its Hull headquarters, alongside the creation of a national heat pump training network and a government-recognised Skills Bootcamp programme.
Ideal Heating’s dedicated heat pump customer service team resolves more than 70 per cent of issues remotely, saving more than 30,000 miles of engineer travel and preventing over 9,000kg of CO2 emissions.
Andrew Johnson, training and design services director, added: “We identified early on that the market required a whole package to give installers the skills and confidence to succeed, and give consumers the reliability and support they expect. “
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, established in 1965, recognises outstanding achievements by UK businesses, with winners holding the title for five years.
