HHIC makes energy labelling simple

A new website from the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council (HHIC) aims to simplify the forthcoming Energy Labelling legislation.

From 26 September 2015, new boilers, heat pumps, and water heaters need to display a label to show their energy performance. A ‘package’ label will also be required when several products are installed together.

“This new legislation will have an impact on most people working in the heating industry – whether a manufacturer, installer or merchant. It isn’t a surprise, as we have been working together with our European colleagues for many months now, but it will take some time to understand the different responsibilities,” says HHIC director Roger Webb.

“HHIC has created this website to explain in the simplest terms what these individual responsibilities are and what actions will need to be taken. With a clear step-by-step guide, frequently asked questions and glossary section, I hope that those affected will be able to use this site to support them through the introduction of this new energy label.”

The website was developed by the HHIC with the Hot Water Association and BEAMA.
