Geberit answers family’s SOS
Geberit stepped in to help twins Katie and Emilia Corns as part of BBC TV’s DIY SOS call for help.
Supplying a Geberit AquaClean 8000plus Care to the latest Big Build project undertaken by the popular TV show, the manufacturer played a small part in making things easier for the Corns family, from Loughborough.
Adding a two-storey extension on to Jenny and Mark Corns‘ home, the DIY SOS team, with the help of many local tradespeople, created a much-needed downstairs bathroom, fitted with the Geberit AquaClean 8000plus Care. This advanced shower toilet combines the convenience of a warm water wash and a warm air-dryer to leave the user feeling fresh and clean. This will make it easier for Jenny and Mark to wash the twins, and in time will allow them to attend to their own hygiene.
Jenny and Mark already had daughter Abigail, now three, when, in February 2013, Jenny went in to labour suddenly at home. By the time the ambulance had arrived, Mark had delivered identical twins and both were extremely unwell: Katie was not breathing and Emelia was breech. The twins were diagnosed with Achondraplasia (a form of dwarfism), along with respiratory illnesses and bowing legs.
