Don’t forget to set up 2FA

Have you set up 2FA in your online Gas Safe Register account yet? More than 2,000 registered businesses have already made sure that their details are safe and secure by verifying their identity when they log in.

It’s a straightforward process that should take just a few minutes and it’s being rolled out in stages. When you log in, you’ll see an Alert on your dashboard to upgrade your account by adding 2FA. When you’ve done this, whenever you log in, you’ll be asked to confirm your identity by text message or email, in addition to your password, adding an extra layer of protection to your information.

It’s important to make sure that you provide a valid mobile phone number and email address. This is because you’ll receive a validation code that you must enter to set up and confirm your 2FA.

If someone else manages your online activities for you, such as notification or renewing your registration, you must both set up 2FA. You must not share the same user ID because whoever logs into your account will need to verify their identity via their own mobile phone or email.

New users on your account will be 2FA-enabled automatically, and those applying to join the Register for the first time will set up 2FA by default.
