Registration opens for SkillPLUMB 2026 – showcasing the best in UK plumbing talent

Talented plumbing students and apprentices across the UK are being urged to enter SkillPLUMB 2026, the national competition celebrating excellence in plumbing apprenticeship training.

Organised by the BPEC Charity and sponsored by Ideal Heating, the contest invites Level 2 and 3 students and apprentices to demonstrate their skills through a series of challenging practical tests. Entries are now open and will close on 27 March.

“We are proud to organise SkillPLUMB and BPEC is committed to supporting the regional, national, and international plumbing skills competitions as a means of showcasing the best in apprenticeship training,” said Neil Collishaw, BPEC Chief Executive. “Each year the quality demonstrated by our industry’s student plumbers is astounding; we look forward to the excellent standards we’ll be witnessing from competitors again this year.”

Successful entrants from college-based assessments will progress to regional heats in May and June, with top performers advancing to the national final in South Wales this November.

The BPEC website has more information on the competition, an in-house training task to help prepare competitors, and details on the events taking place across the UK. To find out more visit www.bpec.org.uk/skillplumb

The event runs alongside around 50 other WorldSkills UK competitions, forming part of the global skills network that could lead to international competition in Aichi, Japan, in 2028.
