Safety Alert 035: Intergas Boilers
Developed with Intergas Heating
Introduction
Gas Safe Register has been made aware of a concern regarding a possible issue with some Intergas boilers, whereby a gas escape may occur upon installation of the appliance.
Hazard
Intergas Heating has identified a potential risk with a small number of its gas boilers, where the gas valve connections (both inlet and outlet) may become loose in transit. While Intergas has taken steps to inspect all new appliances coming from its factory, there may be a small number of affected boilers being held in merchants, etc.
Corrective actions
It is expected that any such issue with the gas valve connections would be identified during the commissioning of the appliance. However, it is imperative that both connections on the gas valve are correctly tightened prior to gas being introduced to the appliance and that the commissioning procedure detailed in the manufacturer’s instructions is followed correctly.
