Viessmann’s Vitodens 200 domestic boiler range includes a low-output system model suitable for the heat demand of most modest-sized, well-insulated UK homes.
The range includes the Vitodens 200-W wall-hung boiler and Vitodens 222-F floor-standing storage boiler, with outputs from 11kW to 60kW.
Marketing director Darren McMahon says: “Not many homes have a heat load of more than 10kW, yet most system boiler ranges start at around 19kW.
“Homeowners are buying larger boilers than they need and, once installed, the boiler cycles more than it needs to, increasing running costs and wear and tear. A correctly sized boiler will be more efficient and last longer.”
Viessmann says engineers who fit the Vitodens 200-W 11kW will no longer have to range rate larger boilers, and can fit system boilers where heat-only models may have been chosen previously. The boiler has a 17kW output rating for the generation of hot water.
The Vitodens range uses a MatriX Plus burner to reduce NOx emissions by up to 40 per cent, and has inbuilt WiFi so that an additional controller is not required.
