Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024 Mohammed Rahman, shown in head and shoulders, holding his award

London plumber is Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024

London plumber Mohammed Rahman is this year’s Screwfix Top Tradesperson. In the 15th year of the competition, Mohammed received the coveted award at Screwfix Live, having gone head to head with nine of the nation’s best tradespeople and impressed a panel of industry experts.

Mohammed owns Rahman Build and has more than 15 years of experience in the trade. During the final, he impressed the judges with his commitment to training, both on a practical and business level. In 2016, he completed his HND in Construction Management, which supports his long-term growth plans.

His dedication to the future of the trade shone through, too, via funding his apprentice through his Level 2 qualification.

Alongside taking home the title, Mohammed also won a trade bundle of tech, tools and training worth £20,0000. He says he plans to use the prize to invest in training for his team and ultimately help him grow his business to take on three more apprentices.

He said: “To hear my name announced was honestly a complete shock. Any one of the finalists was a worthy winner, so I’m delighted to have been crowned this year’s champion.

“I’ve always thought self-belief is so important when it comes to having a rewarding career, and this is something I take the time to instil in my apprentices too. Winning Screwfix Top Tradesperson is as much for them as it is for me, as I want it to inspire them, and others, using my own journey to show them anything is possible.”

Screwfix marketing director Jack Wallace said: “Every finalist was a shining example of a top tradesperson but Mohammed really stood out to the judges. His passion and drive for his trade was remarkable but it was his aspiration to create a working environment that championed apprentices that blew us away. I am delighted to crown him as our 2024 winner and I know he will be an incredible ambassador for us and the wider construction industry.”

This year’s Screwfix Live welcomed more than 26,000 visitors to Farnborough’s Exhibition and Conference Centre over three days, beating last year’s attendance by 40%.
