Hours: 37 per week, 52 weeks per year

A day in the life
As a Plumbing & Gas Lecturer you will be able to share your wealth of knowledge with learners on programmes at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, utilising your experience, knowledge and high level of skills. You will build the learners’ understanding of both theory and practical knowledge. You will be responsible for checking learners’ competence against industry standards to enable them to gain the qualification, encouraging learners to reach their full potential and secure employment at the end of their studies.

We deliver our courses to learners on the full and part-time programmes, apprenticeships and to adult learners.

You will be a member of a highly successful team of Plumbing & Gas Lecturers and Course managers who will be available to offer support and guidance.

If you are new to teaching, we will assign you a mentor and you will receive a reduced caseload for the first year of teaching. You will also receive support to enable you to achieve teacher status by gaining your certificate in education or PGCE.

Skills/experience required:
• Highly motivated plumber or gas engineer, with a range of industry experience
• A good communicator
• Either teaching experience or have supported apprentices in the workplace
• Knowledge of Microsoft IT packages
• Willingness to learn and share skills
• Well organised and good interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills

Qualifications required:
• You will hold a minimum of Level 2/3 in plumbing (or equivalent) and the relevant ACS or renewables competencies would be of an advantage
• Willingness to work towards teaching qualification/or to hold a teaching qualification
