Fighter pilot speaker confirmed for Women Installer’s Together event

The Women Installer’s Together event on 6 July has lined up its most exciting speaker yet: fast jet fighter pilot Mandy Hickson.

Mandy was the UK’s second woman fast jet fighter pilot, and her story left event organiser and Stopcocks Group director Mica May breathless, she says: “Thanks to the event partnership with Williams Trade Only Plumbing and Heating Supplies, Mandy, the speaker we’ve wanted for the last couple of events, has been confirmed.”

This year, all skilled tradeswomen are warmly invited to attend, as well as trainees and women and girls interested in entering the construction and maintenance industries.

“This is a very big departure for us and one we’re incredibly grateful that our sponsors from the plumbing and heating world are flexible enough to support,” says Mica.

“There is still some space for sponsors from companies working with other trades and for industry-wide suppliers to join us. This is the only event at which companies and manufacturers can really show their commitment to wider inclusivity and find out what tradeswomen bring to the industry.”

The event will take place at a new bigger venue, at London Metropolitan University in London N7, supported by its other partner, Monument Tools.

As always, the MC will be Hattie Hasan MBE and it is first and foremost an opportunity for women working on the tools in the construction and maintenance industries to meet one another and share their experiences in networking sessions and round-table discussions.
