This Gas Safety Week, Gas Safe Register will be championing gas engineers as the nation’s Everyday Heroes. And it’s running a competition to recognise the great work you do.
To enter, simply share your story about how you’ve helped make people gas safe, or nominate someone else’s, here: bit.ly/WinGSW18. One example could be: “I once stopped a family from suffering CO poisoning by unblocking a vent that they had covered up to stop draughts, and told them how important it is to keep their vents clear.”
Entries must be received by 16 September and Gas Safe’s favourite stories will be put to an anonymous online vote during Gas Safety Week 2018 – 17-23 September. The story that receives the most votes will win an Anton Sprint eVo3 Kit 3, which includes an IR printer, flue probe, cooker probe, flueless gas fire probe, gas escape detector, pressure-relief valve, two temperature clamps, carry bag and charger – plus Bluetooth communication with the Android app, which enables PDF reports to be emailed to customers.
Gas Safety Week aims to raise awareness around the dangers of faulty gas appliances, to help protect families from gas escapes, fires, explosions and CO poisoning. Gas engineers play an essential role in keeping our nation safe, and this competition aims to share and celebrate their work.
