Are you the best trade apprentice?

Screwfix is launching a competition to find and reward the UK’s best trade apprentice. Brilliant budding builders and the next generation of electricians and plumbers can all enter for the chance to win a trade business pack worth £10,000 containing everything they need to set up on their own.

Have you passed your course with excellent results, already offered great customer service when out and about, or have you worked on an unusual job with your boss? Perhaps you have a keen interest in building your own business, you act with professionalism on every job or you have some great innovative product ideas.

No matter why, trade apprentices are invited to enter – with finalists from around the UK going head-to-head at Google’s HQ, to be named the best in Britain.

This year’s winner will receive a brilliant business pack including a Google Nexus tablet and a top-of-the-range laptop, as well as £5,000 worth of Screwfix products and up to £3,000 to spend on training courses to further enhance their career.

They will also wear the crown of Screwfix’s No 1 Apprentice. John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, says: “As a key supplier to the trade, we believe it’s vital that we recognise and reward the future tradesmen across the UK as they really are the foundation of any community, ensuring homes and businesses are fit for purpose.

“This competition has been created to give young apprentices a first step on the ladder in their career and give them the tools to help them to build a successful business.”

Entries are open until Sunday 6 March, and the national final will be held in April, with the overall winner being named the Trade Apprentice of 2016.

Nadia Connabeer, Trade Apprentice winner in 2015, says: “I’d recommend everyone to apply. I never thought I’d win and I’ve been on such a journey ever since I got the news, from the free products to the training I’ve received, it’s helped me and my career so much.”
