New skills partnership

New partnership to replace SummitSkills

A new skills partnership for the plumbing and heating industry starts on 1 April. The Plumbing and Heating Skills Partnership (PHSP) has been created through APHC, BPEC and SNIPEF, following the closure of SummitSkills. It will work closely with other industry and government organisations that have a keen interest in skills to help meet the needs of the industry.

APHC chairman Andrew Beaumont says: “We are very much looking forward to the plumbing and heating industry taking full responsibility for meeting the education and training needs of those who work in the industry.”

BPEC chairman George Thomson says: “We see the new skills partnership as a unique opportunity for employers to be at the very heart of identifying and meeting the skills needs in a complex and rapidly changing world.”

Meanwhile, SNIPEF president Brian Warrender adds: “We believe the PHSP represents an exciting new era for the plumbing and heating industry and we are very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

More information will be available soon, says the organisation.
